SunCompany is a renewable energy firm focused on solar solutions, formerly known as SunColombia. The company develops solar farms and hybrid projects and plans expansion into the Dominican Republic and Guyana. It recently raised capital—a $9.8M Series B and $5M in debt—to support growth and operations. Part of the funding will be used to build solar farms for Bancolombia and to strengthen the company’s technical and engineering team. SunCompany employs 250 people and maintains framework contracts with Ecopetrol, ISA, Grupo Energía de Bogotá, Enel, EPM, and Emcali covering construction, operations, and in some cases financing. The influx of capital is intended to support both domestic projects in Colombia and new initiatives abroad.
