Robin Games is developing a new niche it calls “lifestyle gaming,” creating fantasy mobile games with the aesthetic and tone of lifestyle magazines and influencer content. The studio is led by founder and CEO Jill Wilson, a former Jam City executive who worked on top-grossing franchises. The company has not yet announced its first titles or launch dates but says its games will be free-to-play. Robin Games plans to incorporate a partnership strategy later to diversify revenue beyond the free-to-play model. The startup is a nine-person team based in Venice Beach, with management that is 80% women. The company announced an oversubscribed $7M seed funding as its public debut.
