Aurus Network's SuperProfs.com is an online platform that connects students preparing for competitive exams (CA, CS, CMA, GATE) with professors through live and recorded HD video streaming. The platform uses technology to deliver live HD-quality video at low bandwidth and has partnered with professors in Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Aurus Network was founded in 2010 by IIT Kanpur alumni Piyush Agrawal and Sujeet Kumar; SuperProfs.com was launched earlier this year and the firm claims over 25,000 registered students. The company plans to use new funds to add more courses and expand operations across India, with an emphasis on reaching tier 2 and 3 towns and pursuing mobile delivery. Management cites a large addressable market, noting projections that India's online test-prep market could become a multi-billion dollar industry with over 15 million annual exam takers. Prior to the Series A, the company had raised an undisclosed amount from Indian Angel Network.
