Overview
Supersonic builds a cloud-based software development kit that enables mobile application developers to include streaming interactive ads, virtual currency rewards, and engagement mechanics inside apps. Its unified SDK provides ad serving, network mediation and a real-time bidding (RTB) marketplace under a single fee structure. The company rebranded from SupersonicAds and is headquartered in Tel Aviv with an office in San Francisco. Management announced plans to expand in the Asia-Pacific region with new offices in Beijing, Tokyo and Bangalore and said it will pursue acquisitions. Leadership intends to improve user acquisition effectiveness, retargeting, audience targeting and app attribution technology. Supersonic reported a $100 million annual run rate in its third quarter and plans to grow headcount to about 250 by the end of 2014. SupersonicAds builds BrandConnect, a monetization solution that runs video and branded widget advertising within social games and integrates with the Facebook Platform. The product lets users earn virtual currency for engagement and supports brand engagement campaigns and direct-response offers for Facebook Credits. Clients named in the article include Disney, Kellogg’s and Hasbro. The company plans to use the new funding to expand BrandConnect's international presence. SupersonicAds was founded in 2010 by former executives of Metacafe. The startup has raised more than $6 million in total funding to date.
