Surgical Safety Technologies develops the OR Black Box platform—a suite of AI-driven software and analytics that inform real-time decision-making and provide insights on safety, compliance, and efficiency. The platform is designed to improve patient outcomes and reduce hospital costs and is already used by academic healthcare centers across North America and Europe. Clinical studies have demonstrated improved compliance with standard operating procedures, reductions in never events, and better clinical performance. The company intends to use the new funding to drive further adoption of its signature OR Black Box technology. SST has nearly 60 employees across its Toronto and New York offices. The company was founded by Teodor Grantcharov.
