Surgital produces deep-frozen fresh pasta, sauces and ready-to-cook frozen dishes for professional foodservice channels. The company was created in 1980 and operates a 60,000 sq.m plant in Lavezzola (RA) with 26,000 sq.m dedicated to production and 25,000 m3 of -18°C cold storage. It employs about 200 people and reported turnover of over €50m in 2011. Surgital maintains sales offices in France, Germany and the U.K. The company plans to use new financing to grow organically by expanding production facilities and to pursue acquisitions of food companies abroad. Products are targeted at hotels, restaurants, catering and bar/snack operators.
