Sutradhar raised $500,000 in a seed round led by Venture Catalysts and LetsVenture. Existing investor Titan Capital and angel investors including Sahil Barua, Shashvat Nakrani, and Kush Agarwal also participated. The New Delhi-based fundraising will be used to expand operations and create content for distribution to Indians across the globe. Sutradhar is an illustrated short stories platform focused on Indian history and optimized for smartphone users. It has produced more than 1,000 videos in Hindi, English, Marathi and Odia, which are available through its mobile app. The app has over 250,000 downloads and 100,000 registered users.
