Swagbucks operates a consumer rewards site that rewards members with gift cards and points for online activities including search, shopping, surveys, videos and games. Since its 2008 founding the company says it has distributed over $60 million in gift cards. The startup reports it has been profitable since 2010 and generated $53 million in revenue in 2013, a 51% increase from 2012. Swagbucks currently offers six activities on its website and a mobile platform that includes search, deals, and entertainment. The company faces competitors such as RetailMeNot, Coupons.com, and eBates. Management says it will focus product development on making the experience more intuitive and personalized and expanding mobile functionality.
