Swan Global Investments manages $1.9 billion in assets and was formed in 1997 to offer its proprietary Defined Risk Strategy (DRS). DRS is an actively managed, hedged-equity, rules-based process designed to hedge against large stock market declines and seek to outperform the S&P 500 over full market cycles. The strategy is available in mutual funds, separately managed accounts, and as an overlay to customize existing equity portfolios. Swan combines hedging techniques with market-neutral income generation to minimize losses in bear markets. The firm is managed out of Durango, CO with affiliated offices in Tampa and Puerto Rico. Swan plans to expand its product offerings and sales and marketing efforts, including increased research and development, customer support, and product distribution.
