Founded in 2024, Sweden Ballistics is building a TNT manufacturing facility in Nora, Sweden to address shortages in energetic materials for European ammunition production. The facility is planned to produce over 4,000 tonnes of TNT annually and is targeted to reach full-scale, 24/7 production by 2028 using European raw materials and machinery. SWEBAL secured key regulatory approvals in late 2025 and early 2026 and announced that its construction plans are proceeding as expected. Financially, the company raised a €30 million strategic investment to complete the factory and has stated the project is now fully financed. The company positions itself to strengthen NATO resilience and reduce reliance on long-distance imports for explosives supply.
