Swedish Algae Factory cultivates microscopic algae and uses the algae shells as a biobased ingredient, marketed to replace less sustainable chemicals in applications including skincare. The company reports its algae are included in about 80 launched products sold to small and medium customers. CEO Sofie Allert says the company has focused on proving commercial maturity before scaling. Financially, management has set a goal to reach profitability within the next few years and secured a new financing round of over SEK 18 million to support that path.
