Swiipe is a Danish fintech that shortens online checkout by storing shopper data so purchases can be completed with a Swiipe login and one click. Founded in 2017 by Anders Riis and Caspar Oreskov, the product reduces password and form entry for consumers and increases conversion and retention for merchants and subscription services. It supports multiple payment options including debit and credit cards and payment services such as MobilePay and Betalingsservice, and is designed for easy integration with large e-commerce platforms. Swiipe describes itself as an open platform and sees potential partnerships with MobilePay and PayPal while planning to implement account-to-account transactions via PSD2 to lower transaction costs. The company is available only in Denmark and is building standard implementations for different e-commerce platforms to ease adoption. Financially, Swiipe raised 6 million DKK from business angels and was named a finalist in the Nordic Startup Awards’ Best Bootstrapped Startup category.
