Led by founder and CEO Farouk Meralli, SwipeRx focuses on scaling its commerce and logistics offerings for pharmacies. mClinica provides healthcare data in Southeast Asia by partnering with local pharmacies and capturing prescription, dispensing and purchase data through a pharmacy-facing app. The app offers pharmacies loyalty and discount programs, business tools and industry news while authenticating customers via mobile numbers; data is desensitized for privacy. mClinica is present in the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam and works with more than 5,000 pharmacies, giving a stated potential reach of 70 million patients. The collected data is compiled into reports sold to pharmaceutical companies and shared, sometimes free, with governments and NGOs for policy and outbreak detection. The company aims to expand its geographic footprint across Malaysia and Thailand in the near term, with Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar on its roadmap. mClinica plans to use new funding to grow reach through offline sales and advertising and digital channels such as Facebook.
