Switch Communications, formerly known as Firespotter Labs and founded by Craig Walker, offers a cloud-based business phone system and unified communications tools. The service connects workers to a company phone system from any device (desk phone, mobile or laptop) and lets users control calls via an app, including recording, transferring and switching between voice, SMS or chat. Switch is integrated with Google Apps and its social profile surfaces recent Gmail messages, shared Google Docs, upcoming Calendar invites and LinkedIn profiles, plus the ability to launch a video call through Hangouts. The company also provides UberConference, a teleconferencing and productivity tool. Switch recently raised a $35M Series C and had previously raised $18M, which updates its financial position following this round.
