SWITCH Materials Inc. is a Burnaby, B.C., Canada-based developer of energy-saving window solutions that uses patented hybrid photo/electrochromic materials. The company develops light-control films for architectural and automotive applications. In January 2010 SWITCH closed a C$7.5m Series B financing led by the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC Venture Capital), with participation from existing investors GrowthWorks, Pangaea Ventures and Ventures West. The funds will be used to continue research and development and to complete product commercialization. In conjunction with the financing, Mr. Catherwood will join the company’s board of directors. The financing was completed as a C$7.5m Series B round.
