Swytch
Unit 5 455 Wick Lane, London, Greater London, E3 2TB, United Kingdom
Overview
Swytch produces a compact, handlebar-mounted conversion kit that contains a removable battery pack and controller to convert a regular bicycle into an e-bike. The base kit includes a choice of front wheel, a 250W hub motor, a 180Wh (1.5kg) lithium-ion battery, a special battery mount, a pedal sensor and a charger. Swytch says the basic kit delivers a top speed of 25 km/h, about 35 km of range and a three-hour charge time. The company is running a second Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign that has raised nearly $800,000 and has diversified options with higher-power battery variants and accessories. Swytch previously ran an Indiegogo campaign in 2017 that attracted over $500,000 from roughly 1,800 backers. Founder Oliver Montague, an engineering graduate of the University of Oxford, emphasizes simple, convenient electric-transport solutions.
