Syft is a recruitment app connecting fully vetted temporary workers to the hospitality and events sectors. Launched in November 2015, the platform lets users choose where and when they work and handles payroll and tax duties. Syft reports an average wage of £9.25 per hour per shift, with premium shifts paying up to £20 an hour, and claims to save clients 55% in fees versus established competitors. The company plans to use new funding for ongoing platform development and to expand across London. Co-founder Novo Abakare said the size of the seed round indicates the addressable market and the team’s early progress.
