Synchroneuron is developing SNC-102, a novel formulation of acamprosate calcium intended to treat tardive dyskinesia (TD) and other neuropsychiatric disorders. SNC-102 was developed to improve the pharmacokinetic properties of acamprosate; Phase 1 studies showed it can produce sustained plasma levels anticipated to be efficacious for TD. The company is running a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 2 trial in moderate-to-severe TD, with topline data expected in early 2015 and about half of subjects enrolled or completed.
