SynGenSys is a biotechnology spinout from the University of Sheffield focused on designing and constructing synthetic genetic components for next‑generation biomedicines and biomanufacturing. The company completed an angel‑led £1.8m seed fundraise. Legal advice on the transaction was provided by Freeths and Translink provided corporate finance advice. SynGenSys has appointed Dr Andy Racher as Commercial Operations Director; he brings over three decades of biotechnology experience and prior senior roles at Lonza Biologics. Management says it will make additional hires as it begins to offer its products and services to customers worldwide.
