Synoste is developing implantable devices for the limb lengthening market based on a proprietary technology platform developed at Aalto University and ORTON Orthopaedic Hospital. The devices are designed for routine implantation and allow correct extraction via a magnetic field using a home care unit, reducing the need for daily hospital visits. The company is led by CEO and co‑founder Harri Hallila and is based in Helsinki, Finland and Düsseldorf, Germany. Synoste closed an up to €2.8m funding round to advance its program. It has raised a €0.8m seed tranche that can be increased by up to €1.2m upon reaching certain milestones. The company intends to use the funds to finalize its prototype and advance into pre‑clinical development.
