Tachyon Therapeutics

1160 Battery Street East, Suite 100, San Francisco, California, 94111, United States

Overview

Tachyon Therapeutics develops first-in-class therapeutics targeting novel cancer dysregulation pathways, led by its TACH101 small‑molecule KDM4 histone demethylase inhibitor. The company has cleared an IND for TACH101 and has enrolled the first patient in a Phase 1 study for advanced or metastatic solid tumors (NCT05076552). Proceeds from the recent financing are being used to run that Phase 1 study and to advance the company’s pipeline of oncology candidates against previously unexplored mechanisms of tumorigenesis. Tachyon was founded on work by Drs. Stephen Quake and Michael Clarke at Stanford and received an exclusive license for KDM4 inhibitors in November 2019 from Celgene Quanticel Research (now Bristol Myers Squibb). Since starting operations in 2020, the company has raised $11.6 million in equity financing and, together with a $7.1 million CIRM grant, has secured $18.7 million in total funding. The company operates with an internal core development team supported by a virtual external network and recently added Dr. Jeff Stafford to its board to support discovery and development efforts.
