Overview

Tachyum is building Prodigy, the world’s first universal processor designed to handle AI/ML, high-performance computing and general cloud workloads within one homogeneous architecture. Each Prodigy chiplet houses 256 custom 64-bit cores that, according to the company, deliver three times the performance of top x86 CPUs and six times that of leading GPGPUs for HPC, while slashing AI model costs by up to two orders of magnitude. The firm has secured a $500 million purchase order for the chips, underscoring early market demand from hyperscale data-center operators and governments racing for AI supremacy. Fresh capital will finance the final tape-out and production ramp of Prodigy, after which Tachyum intends to reveal upgraded specifications. Including the latest round, the company has attracted more than $300 million over three funding rounds and operates from offices in the United States, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Management projects that this momentum could carry the company to an IPO as early as 2027.
