Overview

Tackle.io provides a “zero engineering” platform that helps independent software vendors list and sell their products through cloud marketplaces such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform and Red Hat. The company reports it has grown its customer base to 350, including AppDynamics, Auth0, CrowdStrike, GitLab, HashiCorp and VMware. Tackle says it doubled its ARR in 2021 and increased headcount from 56 to 160 employees this year, with plans to double staff again in 2022. It plans to use new funding to accelerate its product roadmap, scale go-to-market teams, expand global reach and continue innovating. Investors and industry reports view cloud marketplaces as an increasingly important GTM channel, positioning Tackle as a category leader. Tackle offers a no-code software platform that automates the complex technical and business tasks needed to get products onto cloud marketplaces and handle downstream processes such as upgrades, refunds and overage charges. Founder Dillon Woods created the product after observing repeated manual integrations at prior jobs; CEO John Jahnke says customers typically start with one product in one marketplace as a proof of concept and expand from there. The company reports it tripled annual recurring revenue, doubled headcount and doubled the number of customers while facilitating over $200 million in transactions across the three cloud marketplaces. Tackle counts customers including Snowflake, GitHub, New Relic and PagerDuty. It currently has 67 employees across 25 states and plans to almost double headcount by the end of 2021 while emphasizing diversity and inclusion in its scaling plans. Tackle.io provides a Cloud Marketplace Platform that helps software providers list, sell, and run their products on AWS Marketplace, Azure Marketplace, and GCP Marketplace. The platform reduces time to list and sell products, addresses marketplace-specific integration challenges, and gives sellers tools to manage their Marketplace business and co-sell with cloud providers. Launched in 2016, Tackle has helped customers transact over $100 million through the three Marketplaces and reports 10x revenue growth and 8x customer growth since the beginning of 2019. The company operates a remote-first model with natural hiring clusters in Boise, Buffalo, Atlanta, Denver and Boulder, and Seattle. With the new funding, Tackle plans to double down on product innovation and invest in its customer journey team to provide a world-class experience for Marketplace sellers. Notable customers include A Cloud Guru, AppDynamics, Auth0, Fivetran, GitHub, HashiCorp, Looker, McAfee, NewRelic, Pagerduty, Snowflake, and Talend.
