Overview
Tacto has developed a central, AI-based operating system for future-proof supply chains aimed at mid-sized industrials, streamlining procurement workflows and ensuring compliant, sustainable sourcing. The software automates manual tasks, including those necessary for regulatory compliance with various Supply Chain Acts, and enables efficient material sourcing across hundreds of suppliers and tens of thousands of articles. Tacto's AI can identify cost-saving potentials of up to 10 percent of procurement spend by analysing volatile price developments in key cost drivers across the entire article portfolio and comparing them to actual prices paid. The company says that without Tacto organisations would need to hire roughly two additional people solely to comply with upcoming ESG regulations, and notes that the average industrial organisation spends 50 percent of its revenue on procurement. Tacto announced it has raised €50 million in financing led by Sequoia Capital and Index Ventures, with existing investors Visionaries Club, Cherry Ventures and UVC Partners also participating. The funding will be used to speed up product development and invest significantly in AI to automate supplier and compliance workflows, optimise material costs, and reduce emissions via sustainable procurement. Tacto offers an AI-based procurement platform that gives medium-sized industrial companies a transparent overview of procurement activities, algorithmically highlights risk and savings potential, and automates transactional workflows in sourcing and supplier management. The product targets industrial procurement pain points caused by supply-chain disruptions and material shortages. Its software emphasizes intuitive, automated workflows to increase resiliency and unlock savings for customers. Leadership states the company is partnering with industrial market leaders to build a digital leader in procurement for SMEs. Tacto aims to future-proof industrial procurement by running it digitally, intelligently and sustainably, according to co-founder André Petry. The company recently raised €5.3 million to support these efforts.
