Taeillo is a Lagos-based e-commerce startup that designs, manufactures and retails Afrocentric furniture sourced from local suppliers. Founded in 2018 by Jumoke Dada, the company sells sofas, beds, chairs, tables and other home pieces to consumers and businesses across Nigeria and Kenya. Taeillo manufactures about 70% of its products, has shipped more than 10,000 pieces to over 5,000 customers, and produced as many as 800 pieces monthly; it generated over $1 million in revenue in 2021. After pivoting from a B2B model to direct-to-consumer in mid-2020, the company expanded product categories and introduced a best-seller, the Amakisi table. With the new funding Taeillo plans to pre-manufacture top SKUs to cut delivery times to 3–5 days, scale its "Pay with Flexi" installment product (used by more than 200 customers), and double down on AR/VR virtual showrooms. The company also intends to hire talent, optimize operations, improve its supply chain and explore a logistics arm to address delays caused by third-party suppliers and logistics partners.
