Taggstar
Hogarth House, 136 High Holborn, London, WC1V 6PX, United Kingdom
Overview
Taggstar provides publishers with tools to add interactive hotspots to images that reveal video, audio, photos, text and maps when clicked or hovered. The platform includes a “create a shop” feature that can turn image galleries into shoppable experiences by searching a network of retailer product images and XML feeds. Its image search analyzes colour, pattern and style using publisher tags and visual swatches to surface multiple product choices rather than a single linked item. Taggstar is being targeted particularly at fashion publishers and supports a ‘get this look’ use case. Media partners using the product include MSN, Sky Living, The Telegraph, Hearst Magazines (including Harper’s Bazaar) and The Independent, and tests have shown engagement rates ranging from about 12% up to almost 40% for some high-profile content. The company was founded in 2010 and is backed to the tune of £1.6 million (approx. $2.6M).
