Taichi Graphics operates Taitopia, a cloud-based platform for 3D graphics creation, sharing and remote collaboration the company describes as a “Figma for 3D content.” Its core technology is the open-source Taichi programming language, designed for high-performance computation on spatially sparse data structures used in 3D visual computing. The startup says Taichi has seen strong developer interest (about 17,700 GitHub stars as of 2021 and 152 contributors from a dozen countries). Taichi Graphics’ tools are used in physical simulation, augmented reality, AI, robotics and visual effects for film and games. With new proceeds the company plans to strengthen the influence of its parallel programming language, build tools for digital content creators, and hire across R&D, product, monetization, strategy and design. The company was described in the article as a roughly 10-month-old open-source project that is drumming up global developer interest.
