TAIKAI is a Portugal-based open-innovation and hackathon management platform built on the Telos blockchain that connects creators and companies to crowdsource solutions and surface talent. Founded in 2018, the platform runs hackathons and uses a blockchain-based voting mechanism from Telos to make competition evaluation transparent and auditable. The company reports a community of more than 50,000 innovators and says it has helped over 100 global companies solve innovation challenges. TAIKAI plans to use new funding to expand internationally across Europe and Brazil and to develop hiring features aimed at disrupting recruitment processes. It joined the Telos Boost Accelerator for technical, marketing, and business development support from the Telos Foundation. The company intends to grow its development, marketing, and sales team to 24 people by the end of 2021.
