Overview
Talent.io operates a marketplace that matches engineers who sign up when they’re ready to change jobs with tech companies, sending weekly candidate emails and enabling companies to start conversations. The platform applies a strict screening process—of roughly 4,500 monthly signups only about 400 are selected—and removes candidates who don’t find a job after a month. It supports hiring for full-time roles, freelancers, and interns. So far the service has attracted about 2,000 tech companies, with most in Paris and roughly 200 companies each in London and Berlin; about 25% of candidates find new jobs through the platform. Talent.io acquired Webcrowd and Go Digital to expand beyond Paris into Berlin and London. With an €8M ($8.8M) funding round from existing investors Alven Capital and Ventech, the company says it plans to multiply its key metrics by 10. Talent.io operates a scalable recruitment platform that pre-qualifies experienced engineers and showcases them to client companies in bi-weekly sessions. Candidates are screened with a ~20-minute call; about 300 people sign up every two weeks and the company selects roughly 40 candidates per session. Around 400 French companies receive Talent.io’s bi-weekly emails, and roughly 20% of the showcased candidates are hired after each session. Companies review candidate profiles first, then send job offers and salary ranges if interested, reversing the traditional job-ad-first process. Talent.io’s pricing is lower than traditional agencies: it charges 1% of the annual salary per month over 18 months and stops charging if the hire leaves before 18 months. With new funding, the company plans to expand to other European cities and run larger sessions.
