Taligen Therapeutics is a Cambridge, MA-based biotech developing therapies that regulate the complement system to treat inflammatory and immune diseases. Its lead product candidate, TT30, is being advanced toward clinical development. The company focuses on novel complement inhibitors and has R&D programs for genetic and orphan diseases including paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and organ transplant. Taligen closed a $10M tranche of its Series B financing, bringing total Series B proceeds to $36M of an original $65M round. Existing investors Clarus Ventures, Alta Partners, Sanderling Ventures and High Country Venture participated in the tranche. The company says the funding will allow it to advance TT30 through early clinical stages and continue building its pipeline.
