TalkTo is a Cambridge, MA-based provider of a messaging service that enables users to text stores, restaurants, salons, hotels and other businesses to inquire about products and services, book appointments and reservations, or ask other questions. The app emerged in limited beta in September 2011 and is available on the App Store, Android and via the web at talkto.com. The company launched talkto: Boston™, a localized version that enables Boston-area residents to text businesses across the U.S. TalkTo is led by co-founder and CEO Stuart Levinson. On 11/04/2012 the company closed a $3M Series A funding round with Matrix Partners. Antonio Rodriguez, general partner at Matrix Partners, joined TalkTo’s board. The company intends to use the capital for a national rollout later that year.
