Tantaline
355 S Technology Dr, Central Islip, New York, 11722, United States
Overview
Tantaline produces tantalum surface alloys engineered for hot acid environments and positions its product as the most corrosion‑resistant material commercially available. Its technology heats and reacts pure tantalum to create a gaseous tantalum atmosphere that forms an alloy bond on a part’s surface and into the core substrate, producing a true surface alloy while preserving the OEM part’s size and shape. The completed parts exhibit the chemical properties and corrosion resistance of pure tantalum and are said to outperform HASTELLOY B, C, and D alloy grades, titanium, and zirconium. Tantaline’s products are used primarily in oil and gas, chemical processing, energy, pharmaceuticals, and mining. The company plans to use new funding to expand its markets and technical capabilities in the United States and Europe. Tantaline emphasizes cost-competitive corrosion performance as an enabling technology for more aggressive chemistries, higher pressures, and elevated temperatures.
