Tapastreet is a photo and video discovery platform that enables users to see and share what is currently happening at any location worldwide by accessing real-time media uploaded to popular social networks. The company was founded in 2012 by Joe Mitchell (ex-Intel) and Dave Johnson (ex-Googler) and is based in Dublin, Ireland. Its app is available for free on Android, iPhone and iPad and was unveiled at TechCrunch Disrupt 2013. Tapastreet has developed a joint research project with Trinity College Dublin and INSA Lyon under the EU FP7 programme to build advanced image synthesis techniques and location-based AI/ML algorithms for integration into its product. The company intends to use the newly raised funds to increase adoption of its solution.
