Tapbuy

6 Place de la Republique Dominicaine, Paris, Ile-de-France, 75017, France

Overview

TapBuy, built by Kima Labs, is a mobile app and platform designed to streamline mobile shopping by allowing users to enter payment and shipping information once and then complete purchases with a 4-digit PIN. The app surfaces a stream of discounted items discovered by crawling retailer sites and lets users filter deal types or remove retailers they don't want; it supports brands like Gap, Target, and Old Navy. TapBuy automatically applies relevant coupon codes it finds and removes the traditional shopping cart flow so users can 'tap and buy' within seconds. Technically, the company operates a 'browser in the cloud' that programmatically clicks through retailer checkout processes and fills in customer data, enabling onboarding without special merchant APIs. The article reports that the company has raised $770k from investors including Naval Ravikant, SV Angel, Owen Van Natta and former executives from Amazon, Facebook, Google and Wal‑Mart. At launch some items shown in the TapBuy Deals app are not yet TapBuy-enabled, and the team is working to expand full compatibility across listings. Looking ahead, the company plans to release additional apps using the same functionality, enable third-party developer integrations, and roll out Android support next year.
