837 Garland Dr, Palo Alto, CA, 94303, United States
Overview
TapCanvas provides a widget-based, no-code app builder that creates disposable and contextual mobile applications using web technologies like HTML5 rather than native app‑store submissions. Users assemble apps by adding from a library of widgets (16 at launch) for content such as contact info, maps, agendas and social features. About half of the apps on the platform are event/single-use apps and the other half are broader contextual apps (PTA apps, ski guides, resumes, zoo guides, etc.); the company ran a private beta with roughly 750 testers before public debut. TapCanvas announced a partnership with Eventbrite that integrates a Ticketing widget to sell tickets and promote events inside apps. Product plans include adding at least one new widget per week and enabling custom domain names by next month. The service is freemium, with paid plans priced from $19/month to $39/month by unique users, and the company has $200K in pre-seed funding while actively raising a seed round.
