67 E Evelyn Ave, Suite 5, Mountain View, CA, 94041, United States
Overview
TapInfluence offers a proprietary influencer-marketing automation platform that enables brands and agencies to scale influencer programs and measure ROI. The company pivoted from a fully-managed services model to SaaS after bringing on CEO Promise Phelon in March 2015. In 2015 TapInfluence reported more than 300% revenue growth and its influencer marketplace grew nearly 450%. Its platform is used by Fortune 1000 customers including Kraft, Horizon Organic, Silk and P&G, and by agencies such as Golin, RhythmOne and AMP. TapInfluence has established offices in Boulder, Colo. and Mountain View, Calif., and recently added a new CTO, Eli Gild, in Silicon Valley. The company plans to accelerate platform development, grow its marketplace, expand sales and support teams, double headcount by year end and open additional offices. TapInfluence runs a marketplace that helps marketers connect with bloggers and other online influencers to produce sponsored content. The company began as BlogFrog, a social platform for "mommy bloggers," and shifted its focus to linking those bloggers with advertisers. It launched an Influencer Marketplace where brands can search a database of more than 100,000 authenticated content creators by reach, topic, and audience demographics, with data validated via Google Analytics and social account access. The platform includes workflow tools for marketers and influencers to collaborate and measure campaign impact, and TapInfluence verifies influencer quality to avoid low-quality or overly branded content. More than 1,000 pieces of sponsored content pass through the TapInfluence system each month. Financially, the company has raised $5M in this Series B and $8.2M in total funding. BlogFrog began as a community for "mommy bloggers" and has shifted into a social activation platform for marketers. It offers two main products: branded online communities and a program that recruits bloggers to post campaign-related content with an ad unit driving conversation. The company says it maintains a database of roughly 65,000 influential bloggers. CEO Rustin Banks frames the approach as an alternative to banner advertising. Financially, the company has just completed a new financing round to fuel growth. Planned uses for the funding include raising awareness, doubling head count this year, and opening an office in New York City.
