Overview
TAPTAP Digital builds a proprietary platform called Sonata that aggregates and cross-references multiple sources of location data to deliver relevant advertising while protecting user privacy. The software performs complex analytics without relying on unique user identifiers, positioning the company for upcoming data protection and privacy regulatory trends. TAPTAP’s technology aims to help advertisers increase brand awareness, build purchase interest and boost consideration. The company was founded in 2010 by Alvaro del Castillo, who remains CEO and an investor in the business. Management intends to consolidate TAPTAP’s presence in Southern Europe, Latin America and Africa and expand its solutions to new markets with its new partner. TAPTAP and its shareholders were advised by Gómez-Acebo & Pombo and Osborne Clarke on the transaction. TAPTAP Networks operates a premium mobile ad network that runs mobile video and geo-located advertising campaigns and builds mobile web applications for publishers and advertisers via an internal development team. The company was founded in 2010 by Alvaro del Castillo and is headquartered in Madrid. Since inception it has managed more than 500 advertising campaigns, delivered over 1,800 million advertising impressions and reached more than 11,500,000 users in Spain. Over 100 major national and multinational brands, including Mercedes-Benz, Coca-Cola, BBVA and Unilever, have used its services.
