Akosha offers a messaging platform and apps that let consumers contact brands and leave feedback, and it provides enterprises a premium product called OneDirect. The company serves about 130 corporate customers, including Snapdeal and Aircel, and processes roughly 30,000 customer inquiries per day, with 18,000 handled via its mobile app. Its Android app has been downloaded about 140,000 times and an iOS version is in development. Akosha monetizes through OneDirect, which currently has around 30 paying customers, and it recently opened a Bangalore office for technology and product development. The startup plans to hire 200 new software engineers and product managers to expand and improve its platform so it can handle hundreds of customer chats at a time. Founder Ankur Singla launched the company in 2010 after experiencing difficulty reaching telecom customer service. Akosha operates an online platform that connects consumers and brands, offering tools to capture grievances and manage customer feedback. Its OneDirect Suite provides enterprise solutions including customer service benchmarking, online feedback CRM and reputation management. The platform enables brands to drive quick resolution while keeping complaints off social media and to benchmark customer service metrics against competitors. As of June 2014 Akosha had received over 790,000 customer service issues across sectors and serves over 100 large brands. More than a dozen customers are paying clients, including Voltas, Aircel, Snapdeal, Micromax and Groupon. The company intends to use the new funding to expand its OneDirect Suite of enterprise solutions.
