Overview
Tastewise combines brand data with trillions of real-time food signals to power generative-AI tools for marketing and sales across retail and foodservice. The platform integrates into daily workflows to turn data into sales materials, campaigns, product placements, and ready-to-use content in real time. Clients have cut launch timelines by 6–8 months and saved millions on execution costs, and Tastewise helped Kroger reposition a product line for rollout across hundreds of stores. The company supports 80% of the world’s top food and beverage companies, including Mars, Campbell’s, and Kraft Heinz. Tastewise plans to use new capital to expand in North America, Europe, and APAC while deepening integrations with leading marketing-technology stacks and broadening its toolset. Financially, the company announced a $50 million Series B, bringing total funding to date to $72 million. Tastewise builds artificial intelligence-driven data analytics to help food brands with product development, marketing and retail sales decisions. The platform monitors more than 1 million restaurants worldwide and connects food brands with consumers willing to try new products. Its customer base includes major food and beverage companies and food-tech startups such as Nestlé, PepsiCo, Kraft Heinz, Campbell’s and JustEgg. Since launching in 2017, Tastewise has expanded beyond the U.S. and U.K. and is working to grow its data and workforce in India, Australia, Germany, Canada and France. The company tripled revenue between 2020 and 2021 and has doubled its employee count in the U.S. and Israel. It currently works with nearly 15% of the top 100 food and beverage brands and dozens of food-tech startups. Tastewise provides an AI-powered platform that analyzes consumer interactions with food to identify what foods are trending and why. Founded by Alon Chen and Eyal Gaon and based in Tel Aviv, the company ingests over 1 billion food photos shared every month and maintains a restaurant menu database covering more than 180,000 U.S. restaurants. Tastewise breaks down data to the specific functions that interest consumers, delivering actionable insights to food and beverage companies. The company already works with Fortune 500 food and beverage brands and plans to expand the platform’s visual analysis to provide more proactive insights on emerging culinary trends. Tastewise intends to use the funding to further develop its AI technology and deepen its understanding of the human motivations behind food choices.
