Tavo Biotherapeutics focuses on developing novel ophthalmology therapeutics aimed at preserving vision and improving outcomes for patients with glaucoma and retinal disease. Its lead program, TAV-001, is a potential disease-modifying topical therapy for glaucoma that employs a dual mode of action targeting the autonomic nervous system and is planned to enter a Phase 2 clinical trial in the second half of 2026. TAV-002 is a bispecific antibody that targets VEGF and an upstream signaling protein for serious retinal diseases, including wet and dry age-related macular degeneration and diabetes-related retinopathies. The company announced it raised $17 million in a Series A to advance these programs and expand research capabilities. In conjunction with the financing Tavo named Federico Grossi, M.D., Ph.D., as Chief Medical Officer and added Daniel Bradbury as Board Chairman.
