Costruzioni Aeronautiche Tecnam designs, develops and manufactures single- and twin-engine aeroplanes for general aviation. Founded in 1986 by Prof. Luigi Pascale and Giovanni Pascale and based in Capua (Caserta), Italy, the company has sold over 3,400 aeroplanes in more than 50 countries. Customers are supported by a global network of over 60 dealers and 100 Tecnam Service Centres. The company currently employs over 100 people. Tecnam received a €6.5m equity financing from Fondo Italiano di Investimento, which will take a minority stake. The company intends to use the funds to consolidate its leading position in the light aircraft sector and to enter the passenger aircraft market.
