Teemyco builds a customizable virtual space where co-workers co-exist in rooms or sit by the same virtual table using voice and video. The system is released to companies with teams of 250 people and the company has users across 70 countries. Customers include Greenely, Upstreet, Hack your Closet, eHealthApp and Mr Lee’s noodles. With its wide release Teemyco is launching a new version that allows companies to build, furnish and brand their online office. The company intends to use new funding to double the size of the team, focus on further product development and scale sales and marketing. Teemyco was co-founded in 2019 by Charlotte Ekelund and Oleg Danylenko and is based in Stockholm, Sweden. Teemyco offers a room-based virtual office where employees inhabit a lobby and move between rooms to simulate in-person office interactions. In each room users can start audio or video calls, see colleagues in a corner while staying focused on documents, or put calls full screen. Features include focus rooms that prevent interruptions, status rooms for availability, walkie-talkie for quick interactions, and break rooms for casual conversation. The product is positioned as a less formal alternative to standard video-conferencing and aims to augment information in shared documents and communication tools. Teemyco is still a young company and its product is available only in beta. The company raised a $1 million seed round led by Luminar Ventures, providing early financial backing as it develops the product.
