Telectic is a London-based startup that uses artificial intelligence to interpret the content of the World Wide Web and reorganize information about people, networks and organizations. Its core product builds insights into professional networks by reading web content, aimed at professionals doing research and business development. A prototype has mapped the UK and US markets and received positive feedback from early test customers. The company raised £1.5m in seed funding led by Imperial Innovations Group plc, with additional participation from angel investors. Imperial committed £1.3m in the round and now holds an 18.3% stake. Telectic intends to use the funds to launch in 2016; the founding team includes Dr. Jason Kingdon, Sergi Martorell, Dr. Iain McLaren and Pedro Esteban.
