Overview
TCC operates an ICU telehealth platform that provides remote monitoring and clinical decision support using predictive algorithms and machine learning. The company looks after more than 3,000 beds worldwide, including about 300 in Germany, and offers 24/7 telehealth services from Hamburg and Berlin staffed by over 10 trained intensive care physicians. Its Tele-ICU model enables a single highly experienced intensivist to provide service for 100 or more ICU patients at a time. TCC’s platform ingests high-frequency real-time patient data (vital parameters, laboratory results, ventilator settings) to detect medication interactions and predict deterioration and outcomes. Founded by Prof Dr Christian Storm and David Barg and launched in 2022, TCC counts customers including Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin, Krankenhaus Region Hannover (KRH), UKSH Lübeck and Netcare South Africa. The company recently raised €20 million in Series A funding to primarily fund algorithm development toward a holistic digital twin, including a sepsis-prediction algorithm nearing medical-product approval and further kidney-failure prediction tools.
