Telenor Microfinance Bank (TMB) operates Easypaisa, Pakistan's first mobile financial services platform launched in 2009, and has the largest branchless banking footprint in the country by agent network, active accounts and transaction value. TMB provides microfinance and related services aimed at the unbanked and underbanked segments of Pakistani society. The bank reportedly serves more than 20 million customers and combines local market presence with digital payment capabilities. TMB entered a strategic partnership with Ant Financial to upgrade its mobile payment and digital financial services using Alipay's technology. The partnership aims to improve user experience on Easypaisa and expand inclusive, low-cost financial services for individuals and small and micro businesses. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
