TeleSign has doubled revenue each year for the past four years and is preparing a host of new products for launch. Management cites a goal of continued global expansion and a move toward an IPO. The company views its new strategic partnership with Telstra as a way to accelerate growth into the Asia Pacific market. The business is headquartered in Marina del Rey. TeleSign offers a "Mobile Identity" platform that verifies users by associating a valid mobile phone number with every user account. The company provides authentication services to more than 500 clients, including nine of the top 10 U.S. web properties and 19 of the top 25 globally. Its systems protect 3.5 billion accounts across more than 200 countries and in 87 languages. Led by CEO Steve Jillings, TeleSign focuses on product and engineering development of its authentication and fraud-prevention offerings. The company plans to use new funding to expand globally and hire for product development and engineering teams. Financially, the company has raised multiple rounds, including a prior $29M round in May 2012 and the recent Series B. TeleSign provides telephone-based Internet fraud prevention and authentication services, using phone-based two-factor authentication. Its services are widely used by tier-one Internet services firms to help prevent fraud on their sites. The company is headed by tech veteran Steve Jillings and is based in Los Angeles. Per a regulatory filing, TeleSign raised $29.0M in a funding round. The company has not publicly disclosed additional details about the financing. Greg Goldfarb of Summit Partners joined TeleSign's board as part of the funding, and four investors participated in the round.
