Overview
Teleskin develops hardware, software and mobile solutions for screening, analysis and early diagnosis of melanoma, skin cancers and other skin conditions. The company is led by CEO Zeljko Ratkaj and is based in Belgrade, Serbia and Esbjerg, Denmark. It has developed an app, skinScan, which allows users to self-examine, self-screen and self-monitor skin lesions through imaging techniques and provides medical advice from a network of doctors associated with a dedicated service. Teleskin raised DKK6m in funding from Seed Capital. The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop its platform. Teleskin provides a digital solution that allows users to take photos of their moles and skin lesions and submit them through an app and platform for evaluation by a physician. The service returns an answer within 24 hours on whether the lesions appear benign. The team includes doctors and medical experts. The company won the €250k award of the Next Step Challenge, described as Europe’s biggest entrepreneur prize. Teleskin intends to use the funds for further growth and new developments. The award followed a five-month entrepreneurship program in Esbjerg, Denmark that produced eight finalists from the USA, Serbia, Denmark and Chile.
