Tely Labs began with the Tely HD, a $250 consumer-facing wide-angle video chat camera that connects to Skype and mounts on a TV. The company sold tens of thousands of Tely HD units, and discovered many buyers were small and medium-sized businesses using the device as an inexpensive conference-room solution. In response, Tely is rolling out TelyHD Business Edition with business-ready features including screen sharing and multiparty video (up to six participants). At launch it will offer Windows apps for document sharing and will add Mac, iOS, and Android clients soon. The Business Edition hardware is priced at $500 with a $199 annual charge for use of the business system. Tely plans to pursue carrier and channel partnerships to reach the SMB market.
