Overview
Tem operates two complementary businesses: Rosso, an AI-driven transaction engine that pairs electricity suppliers with buyers, and RED, a "neo-utility" that uses Rosso to sell power directly to customers. By collapsing the many intermediaries in traditional energy trading, its machine-learning and LLM models aim to bring end-user prices closer to wholesale rates, promising up to 30% savings. The company has already signed more than 2,600 business customers in the U.K., including Boohoo Group, Fever-Tree and Newcastle United FC, and focuses on renewable and distributed generation assets that suit its algorithms. Tem intentionally built RED first after legacy utilities showed little interest in licensing Rosso, but it plans to open the platform to other utilities once scale is proven. Management says the business is currently profitable on its own but is pursuing rapid growth with an eye toward a future IPO. Fresh capital will fund geographic expansion to Australia and the U.S., beginning in Texas. A recent Series B financing values Tem at over $300 million, underscoring investor confidence in its infrastructure-as-a-service approach to energy markets.
