Temnos
230 Park Ave #1550, New York, NY, 10169, United States
Overview
Temnos is a newly formed startup whose core team traces back to CNET and later TextDigger, now focused on delivering a cloud platform that semantically analyzes text for online publishers. The service returns rich metadata such as grade-level reading scores, brand-safety indicators, and topic taxonomies, while also generating content summaries and alternate headlines. Publishers use these insights to better categorize articles, tailor headlines for different audiences, and widen the pool of contextually relevant ad inventory. Early customers report strong results: Federated Media cites click-through rates rising more than 50% and consumer brand affinity jumping as much as 75%, while Disqus says engagement improves in over 75% of tests when it experiments with Temnos-suggested headlines. Temnos differentiates itself from vertical-specific competitors by offering a flexible, taxonomy-agnostic engine that can even help clients build new taxonomies. The company has just appointed Jim Bailey, formerly CEO of Exis, as chief executive, with founder Tim Musgrove remaining executive chairman. To date, Temnos has secured $1.25 million from undisclosed angel investors to fund continued product development and expansion.
